G2 Esports has teamed up with Theta Labs to launch Sami, a new AI agent that will change how fans interact with their favorite esports team. The AI assistant went live on February 17 and offers instant access to match schedules, player stats, team rosters, and tournament standings.
Sami covers all major G2 titles including League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, VALORANT, Rainbow Six Siege, and Call of Duty. Fans can access Sami through the G2 website and Discord server. The AI provides real-time updates and answers questions in natural language, matching G2’s playful brand voice.
Theta Labs built Sami using its EdgeCloud platform, which combines over 30,000 edge nodes with cloud services from Google and Amazon. This setup delivers 80 PetaFLOPS of GPU power at lower costs than traditional cloud platforms. The system uses NVIDIA A100, H100, RTX 3090, and RTX 4090 GPUs to handle workloads efficiently.
This launch adds G2 to Theta’s growing list of esports partners. Other teams using Theta’s AI include Cloud9, FlyQuest, Evil Geniuses, NRG, Gen.G, Dignitas, 100 Thieves, Method, and Team Heretics.
Mitch Liu, CEO of Theta Labs, stated that esports fans want instant access to team data. Sami delivers 24/7 automated engagement while keeping G2’s unique community personality.
Sabrina Ratih, COO of G2 Esports, noted that Sami goes beyond standard chatbots. It combines machine learning with G2’s competitive tone to entertain and inform fans at the same time.
The partnership positions G2 at the leading edge of AI-driven fan engagement. By using decentralized GPU infrastructure and blockchain computing, G2 can scale globally while maintaining fast response times.
Sami represents the future of fan interaction in esports. Teams that adopt AI solutions like this will set new standards for how they connect with their communities worldwide.
