Genius Sports has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Genius Sports Legend—the digital sports and gaming media network—in a transaction valued at up to $1.2 billion. The deal marks one of the largest consolidations in the sportstech sector this year.
The acquisition price includes $900 million upfront plus a $300 million earnout, funded through an $850 million Term Loan B issuance. Legend generated 320 million annual visits from 118 million unique visitors in 2025, providing Genius Sports with immediate access to a highly engaged sports and gaming audience.
“This deal accelerates our strategic and financial objectives, supercharges fan monetization, and builds a fully integrated sports and gaming media network,” said Mark Locke, CEO of Genius Sports. The acquisition is expected to contribute immediately to adjusted EBITDA margins and free cash flow conversion.
Nick Kisberg, Founder of Legend, welcomed the tie-up: “Joining forces with Genius Sports brings together two world-class teams, unlocks unparalleled growth opportunities for our partners and products, and gives us an even stronger platform to scale.”
Genius Sports projects $1.1 billion in group revenue for 2026, with adjusted EBITDA of $320-330 million. The preliminary 2025 results show revenue reaching $669 million—up 31% year-on-year—with adjusted EBITDA growing 59% to $136 million.
The Genius Sports Legend acquisition strengthens Genius’s position against competitors like Stats Perform and Sportradar in the rapidly converging sports data, media, and betting ecosystem.
