Paris is set to become the global epicenter of esports this August as the Esports World Cup (EWC) brings its landmark festival to the iconic Champs-Élysées. On Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM, the world’s most famous avenue will transform into a massive open-air celebration of competitive gaming, welcoming over 11.8 million French esports participants and 2 million regular viewers.

Co-created with the Comité Champs-Élysées, this free event marks the first time esports will take over the historic avenue, blending world-class competition with mainstream entertainment. The festival aims to make esports accessible to families, hardcore fans, and newcomers alike by featuring legendary gaming personalities alongside stars from music and entertainment.

At the heart of the event will be a high-energy showdown featuring France’s top esports pioneers and club founders competing in Rocket League, Trackmania, and EA SPORTS FC 26 showmatches. These mixed teams will showcase the diversity of French esports talent while entertaining thousands of spectators.

Beyond the main stage, a dedicated Gaming Culture Village will offer interactive experiences throughout the afternoon. Attendees can explore hands-on gaming activities, participate in educational talks with professional esports athletes, and gain behind-the-scenes insights into elite competitive gaming. The event aligns with the Esports Foundation’s mission to grow esports into the world’s biggest sport by expanding its cultural reach and building sustainable industry growth.

The festival represents a significant milestone in esports mainstream acceptance in France, demonstrating how competitive gaming can engage diverse audiences beyond traditional sports. With Paris Expo Porte de Versailles already hosting the Esports World Cup this summer, this open-air celebration extends the event’s impact across the city, creating shared cultural experiences that transcend digital boundaries.
